Recipe Name: Belle’s “Be Our Guest” Tartlets
Ingredients:

The dough:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup confectioner’s sugar, sifted
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder
- Nonstick cooking spray
The filling:
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tablespoons seedless raspberry jam
- 12 fresh raspberries for garnish
- Confectioner’s sugar for dusting
The Cooking:

The tartlets proved to be pretty easy. Many of the steps simply involved combining some ingredients and mixing. This was so easy even Chaos couldn’t mess it up.
It should be noted that there are a few points where the dough needs time to freeze or chill, so that should be factored in if anyone is trying to have this ready by a specific time. Thankfully, we made the dough earlier in the day and were able to hit the final steps post-dinner very quickly. It’s amazing what reading ahead on a recipe can do!
While the dough baked, the filling was made, which also involved further ingredient combining and mixing. Easy peesy!
While the recipe says it’ll make a dozen tartlets, we ended up with 9-ish. That may have been due to us rolling the dough slightly thicker and cutting circles of dough that may have been marginally larger than what was asked for (you have to use the tools you have on hand). The small variations seemed fine and the recipe still came out well.
For those looking for a challenge, this might not be that recipe, but this makes for an easy but good looking treat.

Chaos’ Thoughts on Taste:
Overall, I liked this recipe. The dough and filling complimented each other nicely. I do wish the raspberry flavor was stronger in the filling. This gave more of a hint of raspberry in cream than creamy raspberry. Maybe adding more raspberry jam would do the trick. Again though, the overall dessert was good and I probably ate way too many of these.
Confetti’s Thoughts on Taste:
I’m pretty anti-raspberry, so this recipe wasn’t for me. The chocolate tart was tasty though.
